For Dealers

If you play it straight, we're your best marketing tool.

Honest dealers don't hide from reviews — they invite them. DealerSurface gives transparent dealerships a way to prove it publicly, at no cost.

Why honest dealers welcome this

Transparency isn't a liability. It's a competitive edge — if you know how to use it.

Your grade is already live

Every dealer starts at A+. Maintain your transparency and your grade stays there. Consumers are already checking. This isn't a platform you opt into — it's one you earn your standing on.

Buyers trust verified data

An A+ from real, SMS-verified buyers carries more weight than any ad you can run. It can't be bought. It can only be earned. A verified grade is a credibility signal that no marketing budget can manufacture.

It costs you nothing

No subscription. No pay-to-play. No dealer account. Just your reputation, verified by the people who actually bought from you. The only investment required is behaving consistently the way you claim to.

Your Transparency Toolkit

If your grade reflects reality, share it. These tools let your customers do the talking.

Live Embeddable Badge

Paste one line of code on your website. Your current DealerSurface grade displays in real time — always accurate, never frozen. If your grade changes, the badge updates automatically.

Badges are live — they cannot be screenshotted or downloaded. A dealer displaying this badge is making a real-time public commitment to their current grade.

Post-Sale Email Template

Add a simple line to your post-sale follow-up email inviting customers to submit a verified report. No signup required for them — just a 3-minute form and an SMS verification.

"How was your experience? Your verified report at DealerSurface.com helps other buyers find dealers who play it straight. It takes 3 minutes and your report is anonymous."
Review Generation Software Integration

If you use a review generation platform (Podium, Birdeye, DealerRater, etc.), ask your rep to add a DealerSurface.com link as an option in your SMS review invite. One additional link. No additional cost.

"The SMS invite most dealers already send can include: 'Also share your experience at DealerSurface.com — the only platform that grades how the deal was actually written.'"
QR Code at Delivery

Place a QR code at your F&I desk or delivery area linking to your DealerSurface profile. Customers who just completed a transaction are the most motivated to share their experience — meet them where they are.

Why Our Grades Mean Something

Any review platform can be gamed. We've built multiple layers to prevent it.

SMS Phone Verification (Twilio)

Before submitting, every consumer verifies their identity via a 6-digit SMS PIN sent to their mobile number via Twilio. No anonymous burner submissions. Each phone number is rate-limited to prevent flooding. The verified status appears on every published report.

VIN-Based Duplicate Prevention

Every report requires a valid VIN, verified against the NHTSA database. Each VIN can only be submitted once. A dealer cannot generate 50 positive reports for 50 fake vehicle sales — every VIN is a real car that was actually transacted.

Anomaly Detection

Our system flags suspicious patterns: submissions that complete too quickly, identical scores submitted in rapid succession, unusual geographic clustering, and other signals of coordinated fake reviews. Flagged reports are held for manual review before publishing.

Get caught cheating.
Get flagged permanently.

If we identify a pattern of coordinated fake positive reviews — staff submissions, incentivized reviews, or third-party manipulation — your dealership profile will display a permanent fraud warning visible to every consumer who views your listing:

⚠️
Integrity Alert
This dealership has been flagged for suspected review manipulation. Reports showing unusual submission patterns were identified on [date]. Grades from this period have been removed. Consumer caution is advised.

Your grade will be recalculated excluding the fraudulent reports. The warning remains on your profile permanently. There is no appeal process for proven manipulation.

"The only dealers who should be afraid of DealerSurface are the ones who have something to hide."

A high grade comes with accountability

An A or A+ on DealerSurface is a public commitment. Here's what it means.

Customers can get a real quote over the phone

No "come in and we'll talk numbers." Price transparency before the visit is the baseline of a fair deal.

Cash buyers are welcome

No penalty, no pressure toward dealer financing. A buyer with cash is a customer, not a problem.

Outside financing is accepted without markup

Your credit union or bank, no rate bumps. Dealers that penalize outside financing don't earn A grades here.

The website price is achievable

Without mandatory add-ons, without negotiating through forced extras. What's listed is what a buyer can actually pay.

A note on grade accountability: If your listing shows A or A+ but customers consistently can't achieve these basics, expect your grade to reflect that. Verified consumer reports are specific, detailed, and weighted heavily on exactly these behaviors. No amount of good PR changes the data.

Dealer Questions

It means a consumer had an experience that didn't meet our standards. The best response is to improve — your grade will recover as more verified positive reports come in. We don't remove accurate consumer reports.
No. Consumer identities are never disclosed. You see aggregate data on your public profile only. This protects consumers from retaliation and keeps the data honest.
Contact us at info@dealersurface.com with evidence. We investigate every dispute. Proven fabrications are removed. Accurate reports are not.
No. There is no mechanism for this. Ever. The entire premise of DealerSurface is that grades can't be bought. Any dealer claiming they can sell you a better grade here is either confused or lying.
Train them not to. Submissions from IP addresses or phone numbers showing patterns consistent with staff or the dealership location may be flagged by our anomaly detection — and any suspicious cluster of positive reports will be held for review before they affect your grade.
As verified consumer reports come in. There's no fast track. The grade reflects the last N verified reports, so recent behavior matters more than old behavior. Consistent improvement in your deal practices is the only path to a higher grade.
